The History of Our Transitional Housing for Veterans
Founder Debbie Childress had a front-row seat to the challenges troops face when their uniforms come off. She watched friends return to civilian life with post-traumatic stress, no housing, and no clear path to work. Debbie’s response was action: create transitional housing for veterans that feels like family and folds veteran job assistance into daily ranch life.
In 2018, Valor Ranch received non-profit status and in 2024, purchased just under 14 quiet acres in Ray County, MO. Today, our gates welcome veterans for 12–24 months of structured healing—proof that compassion, combined with planning, equals results.
